The secret to losing weight is diet and exercise. Sometimes, we work out and fail to see results and think it is easier to be complacent and accept the situation. You will be pleased to know that losing weight through diet is remarkably effective. It is advisable to eat in portions and drink lots of water while you are at it.

Eat only when hungry – Avoid eating as you pass time. You will not know the amount of calories you are binging on if you are eating this way.

Foods that help you lose weight
1. Green tea
Have at least 1 cup of green tea every day. Antioxidants found in green tea are good for weight loss, especially in the lower stomach area.
2. Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits help one lose weight. A good example is lemons. Squeeze some lemon juice from fresh lemon and add hot water to make some lemonade. Lemonade can help you shed some fat. However, don’t overdo it.
Water promotes weight loss in different ways. Research studies show that if you drink about 4 cups of water a day, you are likely to have lost 5 pounds of weight in a year. Water helps in the burning of calories and increases energy levels in your body. Replace sugary drinks in your diet, such as soda, juice, coffee, and milkshakes with water.
The best protein foods to consume are fish, chicken, eggs, lamb chops, and turkey meat. Proteins keep you energetic and make you feel full all day which consequently helps you lose weight. Point to note: Make sure you have your breakfast every morning because it’s the most important meal of the day.
Try to engage in light exercises at least three times every week. You can do planks, sit ups, cycle, or skip. You can start small, but as time goes, you can increase the number of repetitions and increase the intensity of the work outs. It’s advisable to work out in the morning before breakfast so as to burn the fat from the previous day.
