Ingredients

1. ΒΌ cup of milk

2. 2 cups of self-rising flour

3. Cup of castor sugar

4. 185g butter (softened)

5. Teaspoon of vanilla essence

6. 3 eggs

Preparation:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 1800C and grease your cake tin properly.

Step 2: Mix your butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Using an electric mixer or mwiko/wooden spoon, beat the mixture until it becomes creamy and light.

Step 3: Add your eggs and continue beating while mixing.

Step 4: Air the self-rising flour adequately by passing it through a sieve. Take the first mixture and mix with the aired flour and mix thoroughly.

Step 5: Pour the final mixture into a cake tin and let it bake for about 1 hour. Using a fork, pierce the cake to find out if it is well baked. Normally, if it is well baked, the fork will come out clean. If the cake is not ready, the fork will have traces of wet flour mixture.

Step 6: Allow the cake cool for a while.

Step 7: You can ice you cake with icing sugar if you so wish.
