7 Fashion Trends That Now Look Ridiculous
If you do this, you need to stop!
Fashion fads come and go; we can all agree. That’s why if you want to be on the safe side, you should try doing your own style rather than trying to keep up with all the new trends. However, there are fashion trends that keep rearing their ugly heads. How we wish they would just disappear already.
These fashion trends that have annoyingly refused to die
Did you know that durags were first used to differentiate between gay and straight guys in prison in the 1970’s? The “female” men (for lack of a better word – the men who act as women) wore them to simulate hair. Beliedat! To this day, some men still think durags are a thing.
2. Sagging Trousers
I don’t know how to say this. Sagging originated in prison. Again! What is it with this prison thing? A man who sagged often signified that he was another man’s property A.K.A b**ch! It meant he was always ready for business for his master – if you know what I mean. Sagging jeans later become a fashion trend and became cool, but don’t you think it’s time to stop showing butt cracks? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3. Bell Bottom Jeans a.k.a ‘hipsters’
Are there ladies who still wear bell bottom jeans? If you cannot keep away from the bell bottoms, wear some palazzo pants instead. Hipsters are way too old school!
4. Lip Bum
Lip bum was the coolest thing to have as a girl back in the day. Heck! Some men even wanted to borrow a sister’s lip bum. Just go looking at those old music videos where bell bottom jeans were a thing. You will find every diva in lip bum. Lip bums are now out of fashion. Lipstick is now the thing. When purchasing lipstick, ensure it compliments your skin tone.
5. Men Doing Cornrows
Cornrows are cool and all but for men, no! that ship has sailed. Men who do cornrows look like associates of the notorious gangster once known as wanugu. Leave the cornrows to the women. There are really cool haircuts available now.
6. Button Earrings
Button earrings were the in thing some time back, but now things have changed. New fashion trends have come up and for cheap too! So, you don’t have to break bank looking for nice earrings. Daring earrings are now the in thing.
7. Men’s Baggy Jeans
Baggy jeans looked good back in the day, in fact the bigger the better. Men who were size 30 inches at the waist could go shopping for jeans that were size 32 inches at the waist. But this is the 21st century, and men now rock slim fit pants.
